Lisa received her degree at the Pennsylvania School of Muscle Therapy. She has continued her education of Myofascial Release under John F. Barnes, as a PT and Brain Therapy/CranioSacral under Dr. Barry Gillespie and Dr. John Upledger. She also studied Thai Yoga Massage under Master Michael Buck She specializes in these modalities as well as, Therapeutic Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Deep Tissue, Soft Tissue Mobilization, Bach Flower Therapy and Naturopathy.
Lisa is continuing her education in the field of Naturopathy, where she will obtain a Doctorate. She currently holds a B.S. in Natural Health, via The Clayton College of Natural Health and an A.A. in Communications from the College of Southern Maryland.Lisa is also training in the art of Qi Gong and pursuing certification in Inner Fire Yoga, where she plans to share her trainings with the public in order to apply a round approach to heath and healing.
Lisa is concerned with general homeostasis, incorporating the body as a whole system and providing treatment plans as such. It is her goal to help and heal one person at a time, as well as to promote a healthy way of life. She is fascinated and endeared with the human spirit, mind, body and the fascia that contains it. Lisa is a member of and insured through the AMTA. Lisa is nationally certified in massage and bodywork through the NCTMB.
Sarah Carlisle, RYT
Sarah's path has been multi-faceted and filled with abundance. She grew up a musician, and moved to Baltimore to pursue studies in double bass on scholarship at the prestigious Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, MD. Her studies and performances in music have taken her all over the world, including Russia, Israel, Egypt, Brazil, Canada, and much of Central and South America. She relocated to Philly this year to begin graduate studies in music on scholarship at Temple University. She plays regularly with local symphonies and in jazz venues in the area, and is also part of a touring kirtan group, Luna Rasa, and indian fusion group, Shantavaani.
After several years of disciplined yoga practice, she completed a 200 hour yoga teacher training in 2006 under the guidance of Kim Manfredi of Charm City Yoga in Baltimore, MD where she taught for four years. She was trained in the vinyasa style and, in addition, has studied tantric yoga with Rod Stryker, as well as traditional kundalini & yin styles. In her classes, she encourages mindfulness, presence, and awareness of energy cultivation while moving through the asanas, making the practice challenging and rewarding not only on the physical level, but also on the mental and energetic levels.
In 2008, Sarah became a certified, level 4 practitioner of Thai Massage from the Lotus Palm School in Montreal, QC, under the guidance of one of the world's masters, Kam Thye Chow. She was trained not only in many hours of massage techniques, but also in how to approach the massage from an Ayurvedic standpoint, so that it may be the most balancing to the individual in that moment. And, after becoming increasingly interested in Ayurvedic philosphy, decided to further pursue Ayurvedic studies in India. She received a Diploma in Ayurvedic Studies, Bodywork, and Pancha Karma Therapies from the College of Ayurveda in Kannur, Kerala, under the direction of Dr. Rajesh Devan and Dr. Sapna Rajesh, B.A.M.S. She has taken workshops with Maya Tiwari & Dr. Vasant Lad, and is currently pursuing certification as an Ayurvedic Lifestyle Counselor through the American Institute of Vedic Studies under the direction of Dr. David Frawley. She has also studied Nada Yoga with Russill Paul through his Yoga Mystery School, as well as privately with Acharya Roop Verma and Wah! She is thrilled to have the opportunity to share this ancient wisdom with you!
Mara McMullen, CMT
Mara McMullen is a graduate of the Pennsylvania School of Muscle Therapy, where she trained in Swedish Massage techniques, Trigger Point Therapy, Deep Muscle Therapy and Pregnancy Massage. She applies her training as a Certified Massage Therapist correcting structural and postural issues related to muscular dysfunction. She has aimed her training towards expecting mothers and babies. Being a Mom , herself, Mara plans to pursue further accreditation in infant massage techniques of various modalities.
Mara's ultimate goal is to help others find a healthy balance in their lives while living a pain free and/or active lifestyle. And to promote that through love and kindness, children can have a better future in which to lives.
Mara is also CPR and first aid certified and insured through the AMTA.
Dr. Hank Finkel, D.C.
Hank Finkel, DC, is an honors graduate from the University Of Bridgeport College Of Chiropractic with a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from the Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Hank has also taught Kinesiology at the Pennsylvania School of Muscle Therapy. His professional passion is in the area of pyschoneuroimmunology, leading him to pursue training in Reiki, Biofeedback, as well as NAET (Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Technique). Dr. Hank is also a Health Coach for the Take Shape for Life Plan.
His interests range from meditation, yoga and Tai Chi to music and backpacking. Familiar with the principles of energy medicine, guided imagery, and psychotherapy, he has helped clients draw connections with these techniques as they work with physical issues. His approach is a holistic one in which he aims to mentor each and every individual with compassion, skilled touch, knowledge and professionalism.
Holly Hopkins, CMT
Holly Hopkins graduated from the Cortiva School of Muscle Therapy, which has set her on her current path in the world of touch. She is pursuing other modalities of massage, but brings great love and respect to those she has mastered. She aims her practice her towards balance, harmony, and compassion, incorporating these practices within each and every massage. Holly’s knowledge of the body and skilled hands allows healing on many levels.
Holly has been involved with the corporate world for many years and understands the stress and tension that can plague society as a whole. Her goal is to reduce the external and internal pressures one individual at a time through healing touch.
Holly is certified in CPR and First Aid. Holly is a member of and insured through the AMTA
Ron Neidlinger, CMT
Ron graduated from the National Academy of Massage Therapy & Healing Sciences, where he had exposure to many modalities of massage and energy work. Having experienced the healing power of massage & bodywork personally, his aim is to incorporate the knowledge of these experiences and training in his own practice and help other’s to realize the healing power of the body.
Having spent years in a high stress career, Ron is well aware of the need for relief of stress in people’s lives along with an option for healing the body that is different than the standard options. It is his goal to provide a caring & gentle environment to help people heal.
Ron has been trained in Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports Massage & Trigger Point Therapy, is certified in First Aid and CPR and is a member of and insured through the ABMP.
Kara Barnett, Reiki
The power of touch and human connection has continually drawn Kara’s spirit like a “moth to a flame.” The gift of her children solidified her desire to assist the human spirit on a journey to attain peace and harmony through love, light, breath, and compassion. Kara’s spiritual studies include Native American healing cultures, Peruvian Shamanic practices, Buddhist traditions and ancient Japanese healing techniques, and Reiki Healing Energy practices.
Kara studied under Reiki Master Scott Fort, where she became certified in the practice of Reiki in the first degree. She then continued her studentship, certified in the practice of Reiki of the second degree with Angela Rapalyea, a Reiki Master and Shamanic Healer. Kara is in a lifelong study to become a Reiki Master, while remaining dedicated to the Universal life force and to each and every being who crosses her path.
Kelly G. Boggs, L.Ac., MTOM
Kelly began studying medicine at Depaul University, Chicago. There she received a BS in Biology and Chemistry. She then earned an Associates degree in Fire Science and Para medicine, continuing on to work as a paramedic with the Chicago Fire Department for eight years. While working as a paramedic she became more and more aware of the negative effects of drugs and medicine on the body.
Searching for alternative therapies, Kelly began studying herbal medicine. Falling in love with herbs and Chinese Medicine, Kelly continued her education at the Pacific College of Oriental medicine. She completed her graduate studies and received a Masters degree in Traditional Chinese medicine from the South East Institute of Oriental Medicine.
Kelly is board certified by the NCCAOM in both Acupuncture and Herbology.
Kelly is a passionate, caring and gentle practitioner. She firmly believes in the body's ability to heal itself. Her training in acupuncture along with her national certification in herbal medicine enables her to treat a wide variety of conditions with amazing results.
When she's not busy with her husband and two beautiful babies, Kelly tries to continue swimming, cycling and running to maintain sanity.
